Tech workers and professionals work long hours, often in front of a computer. Deadlines, meetings, and projects can make for a long day. I like to offer massage directly on-site. I build in a flexibility that caters to the workplace if you have a cancelled meeting or hit a stopping point on a project. For the modern workplace or start-up office, I offer a text service so you can check in for availability.
In my experience working at day spas, I noticed that I wasn't getting to work with many tech workers. After interviewing some friends and contacts in the industry about their experiences with massage, I learned that the time commitment for a spa was just too much for today's busy employees. I study the effects of computer use and repetitive strain on the body and am excited to bring much-needed therapy directly to the people who can use it.
Sessions usually last 15-20 min. In that time, a lot of clients feel they get the benefits of relaxation and feel recharged when they return to work. In a typical session, I like to address neck/shoulders (including what I call "the computer spot knot" commonly found in the shoulder blade), arms/forearms, hands/thumbs. I focus on prevention of repetitive strain injury and carpal tunnel syndrome.
